Below is Scott's report on the race. Pictures are in his album.
On a nearly perfect day for running, Bowden and I enjoyed some wonderful road racing at the Bill Robinson Masters 10K. We missed Bill and Mare, I took a bunch of photos that I will post and send a link in a bit.
The course is hilly and it got quite warm with the bright sunshine. We were both happy to have been in shorts and short sleeves even though there was frost on the car when I left the house this morning. We were running from shade-to-shade for the last two miles. Over 130 people started the race, and I think everyone finished (final time just under 2 hours). A new women's course record was established today, breaking an 18 year old record by over a minute (37:xx). The men's winner was the third fastest ever for the event.
Bowden was able to get a double PR today, his first 5K was a new 5K PR and his 10K was a PR by default since it was his first. I got a PR, also by default, for my first 10K. We finished in what I feel was respectable position (68th [48:51] and 75th [50:12]) given the elite field of Masters runners.
Everyone was wishing Bill the best Mare!!
